Choose your velocity-based training sensor

Enode makes two sensors. Both measure velocity, power, and bar path with the same validated IMU technology and feed data into the same Enode app. The difference is how they mount, and who they're built for.

Which one is right for you?  If you train with a standard barbell and want a versatile, portable VBT solution, the Enode Sensor is your starting point. If you train on Eleiko bars and want a fully integrated setup with internal mounting and dual-sensor bar path tracking, the Eleiko Kit is built for you.

What the data tells you

No matter what level you are at, the Enode sensor and app support you along your training journey. If you are fairly new to training, don't stress the metrics too much, the app will guide you and let you know when you should change loads. If you are an experienced coach or performance manager, you can dive into each individual repetition and use the collated data to extract the information that you need. With around 17+ metrics as well as their eccentric counterparts, plus specific jump metrics, you have a sports science lab in your pocket.

Built for the world's best barbells

Eleiko has been the barbell of choice at Olympic and World Championship competitions for decades. Their bars are used where the margins are smallest and the standards are highest.

The Enode x Eleiko Bar Sensor Kit brings velocity-based training to that same equipment, sensors that sit inside compatible Eleiko bars and measure every lift without adding hardware to the outside of the bar. It is the most integrated VBT setup available for Eleiko bar owners.

Enode x Eleiko

The foundation of the sensors is the same independently validated IMU technology. You choose based on your preference and needs. You can always mix and match, bith sensor types connect to the same application. Have a barbell sensor kit set up in the rack and an Enode sensor for portability and jump testing, the decision is yours.

FAQs

What is a velocity-based training sensor (VBT) sensor?

A velocity-based training (VBT) sensor is a small device that attaches to a barbell (or other equipment), or fits inside one, and measures how fast the bar moves on every rep. A single data point, mean concentric velocity, can tell you more about your training than weight alone ever can. Traditional load prescription relies on percentages of a one-rep max, a number that changes day to day based on fatigue, sleep, stress, and recovery. A VBT sensor cuts through that guesswork. It reads your actual output in real time, so you and your coach can make smarter decisions about load, intensity, and when to stop a set.

Can I use your sensors without a subscription?

Naturally, it is possible to use the app both as an individual and as an organisation for free. If you intend to utilize our products in a professional setting with clients or athletes, we recommend our Enode Pro+ subscription for optimal results. As an individual, a subscription to Enode One+ adds benefits such as automatic training plans and deeper insights. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

How accurate are accelerometer-based VBT sensors?

Well-validated IMU sensors, including the Enode Sensor, perform comparably to linear position transducer (LPT) systems across the velocity ranges used in strength training. Enode's sensor accuracy is documented in peer-reviewed research, available in the Validity and Reliability section of the site.

What barbell exercises can I use a VBT sensor for?

The Enode Sensor is compatible with all standard barbell movements, weight-stack machines, and jumps (with a hip belt). The Enode x Eleiko Bar Sensor Kit is designed specifically for use with compatible Eleiko barbells across Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting movements.

Do I need the Enode app to use the sensor?

Yes. The sensor connects to the Enode app via Bluetooth. The app handles real-time data display, automatic performance profiling, long-term tracking, and program management. The Enode One plan covers individual use; Enode Pro is built for coaches and organisations.

What is the difference between the Enode Sensor and the Enode x Eleiko Bar Sensor Kit?

The Enode Sensor mounts externally via a barbell strap and works with any standard bar. The Eleiko Kit uses two sensors that fit inside compatible Eleiko bars, enabling internal mounting and dual-sensor bar path tracking. Both use the same app and the same underlying sensor technology.

Is Enode compatible with both sensors on the same account?

Yes. Both sensors connect to the Enode app and work within the same account and subscription. Athletes and coaches using both products, for example, the Enode Sensor for machines and jumps and the Eleiko Kit for barbell work manage everything in one place.
